This honestly may have been one of the most fun shoots to date. After a gloomy, rainy day, we decided it would be fun to go to a local court and shoot, while shooting…(get it..basketball?). Anyway, we took advantage of the empty space and changed up the dynamic by adding some intense action to our usual photo shoots. The concept actually came together quite nicely since I decided to wear sneakers, (something I’ve been surprisingly doing quite often) and had a very casual vibe going. Looks like these are pretty much my weekend uniform. They allow for you to still be on trend, with the textures and accessories, while also remaining comfortable if you decide to run errands or simply grab coffee with friends. I’ve mentioned before that I love nothing more than a chunky knit sweater during the fall and winter months. They bring such a cozy vibe to any look and provide a great foundation to build upon. Though I wouldn’t classify myself as a “sneaker girl,” I like to have staple kicks in my wardrobe that go with everything, and these Hurraches have become my new favorites. Obviously, you can’t go wrong with black, but they are also extremely lightweight and stylish. So if you like to be weekend casual like me, comment below and tell me your must-have pieces. WRAPPED UP

To be honest, I pulled this outfit together at the very last minute; but like most spontaneous things, it ended up coming together perfectly! This look portrayed the three emotions I was feeling on this particular Saturday; casual, comfortable, and edgy. Though it was a fairly gloomy day, I still wanted to pull out some statement pieces, and this grey leather wrap skirt happened to be exactly what I was looking for! I’ve been lusting over this skirt for over a year, so when it finally came back in stock, I knew I had to grab it; and it has become one of my new favorite pieces in my wardrobe. Because the skirt has some length to it and I’m not the tallest girl in the world, I decided to balance it out by keeping the top form fitting with a mock neck, ribbed sweater. To stick with the casual theme, I opted for my white leather converses and threw on my black expletive beanie for a bit of drama and interest. Pretty much any bag would work with this look, but in efforts to keep things minimal I decided on my favorite black leather tote. I must say, I was quite pleased with this look. While it is not something that I usually go for, I may have found a new style worth experimenting with. But that’s what fashion is all about! Taking the time to evolve and break out of your comfort zone to see what looks suit you, brings a world of endless possibilities! Until next time! <3

FUR SEASON

The time has finally come! I am a true lover of faux fur pieces and every year around this time I relish in the ability to break out all of my fuzzy items that keep me looking chic and feeling warm. It is amazing how many brands have expanded their lines over the years and began incorporating many more quality faux fur items. Whether you are a fur fan like myself, or just someone that is looking to experiment with the texture in your wardrobe, you can now find pieces almost everywhere that will meet your trendy needs. Because the coat brings such drama, I chose to keep the rest of my outfit minimal with a cream funnel neck sweater and grey skinny jeans. I don’t know about you, but whenever I wear fur I feel extremely luxurious so I decided to keep that theme going with my Fendi sunglasses, which have a tortoise print that seems to mimic that of the coat, and my Chanel inspired chain handbag. I completed the look with my favorite black ankle boots and was ready to hit the streets! I definitely recommend experimenting with fur if you haven’t already, and if you have, try getting your hands on some fur items that you wouldn’t usually go for like a scarf or vest. Stay tuned, fur season has only just begun!

MERRY CHIC-MAS!

Merry Christmas All!!! On this oddly warm Christmas Day, I decided to post my third look for my holiday outfit series. It’s definitely feeling like a Cali Christmas on the east coast, but the warm weather has not stopped the holiday spirit by any means. In efforts to really emphasize the holiday, I chose to center this look around an embellished sweater that I actually bought and wore last year on Christmas Day. I love this top because though it does have the sparkle that most garments possess during the holidays, it is not so obviously “Christmas-themed” and can be worn on many different occasions. To continue to keep things fun and festive, I added a fringe mini skirt on the bottom and my oh-s0-popular thigh high boots for a little added height and warmth. (Side note: I have really been loving pairing navy and black. Is it just me?) This look is perfect for any holiday party, night out, or even dinner with the family. METALLIC MAVEN

For my second holiday look, I decided to go for another fairly casual outfit with a bit of flare. If you are not the type of girl who is into sequins and wants something slightly less flashy, metallic textures and prints are a great alternative. Though I am personally a fan of sequins, I know that they can sometimes make a garment too heavy or, depending on the placement, can also be rather itchy. Luckily, during the holiday season metallic pieces are also in high demand and can be found in most retailers. Similar to my previous look, I kept the drama on the bottom with a metallic pencil skirt, so I made sure to keep everything quite neutral. With that being said though, I wanted to challenge myself by not using any black pieces so I accessorized with white and grey. I feel like the shoes and clutch added a bright pop to the look and played off of the “winter white” trend that is also quite popular. In efforts to not have the look be too overwhelming, I wore a plain grey cropped tee and just threw on a statement necklace for a little extra shine. Surprisingly, I really like the idea of more casual holiday looks this year. While floor length, sequin gowns are always statement worthy, I think looks like these can allow for less stress and the ability to be more comfortable while focusing on the celebration. But who am I kidding; I could change my mind by New Years. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess! Lol. Until next time!

SEQUINED

I was very excited to style this edgy holiday look, especially since I’ve had these sequin joggers for about a year and have been dying to wear them! One thing I love about the holiday season is that you can never be too overdressed. It is a time where you can pull out all of your glitz and glam and no one will judge you for being the disco ball in every room. Aside from that, it is a period of celebration and personally, I jump at any and every chance to get dressed up! Now on to the look. Since the joggers are such a statement piece, I wanted to keep the rest of the look slightly muted so I opted for an all black ensemble and decided to experiment with different textures. I chose a snake printed lace top for added detail, and my black and white leather jacket to bring some contrast. With a bright pop of red lipstick and my minimal mules, I was ready to hit any social event around the city. This look would be a great choice for any informal setting where you can be comfortable and slightly casual with with a bit of pop! FUR OUTERWEAR

Although it has been oddly warmer these days, I figured since it is still technically winter, I would highlight some of the fur jackets, coats, and overall outerwear that has recently caught my eye. While I do love a statement fur coat, it is a style that can be too overwhelming for some. If you are a person who is a little more subtle with their fur choices, opt for a coat or jacket with a fur collar, trim, or lining. This way, you can still be eye-catching and on trend while still remaining comfortable and confident. Of course, if you’re like me and don’t mind having all eyes on you, go for a coat with bright fur or a pattern to completely steal the show!
