Diving into Winter style and for me, it’s all about staying warm while looking chic! To be honest, this year I acquired a handful of exciting pieces that I’ve been dying to share, and this shearling coat was definitely a part of that haul. Aside from the overall quality, I was immediately attracted to the variety of neutral shades that created a sort of “patchwork” design on the garment. It should be no surprise that the color brown is here to stay so I really wanted to create a look that highlighted all of the different hues as well as the gorgeous plush texture. While I knew my outerwear was a showstopper in it’s own right, there was still room to add a few more statement elements. I had been eyeing this bodysuit for quite some time, and made no hesitations to purchase when it finally came back in stock! I personally loved the design, especially the ring details that gave a bit of edge to an otherwise standard cut out detail. Once my sweet tooth was finally satisfied from all of the chocolate, I decided to balance the look with a classic pair of mid-wash jeans featuring a raw hem. To me, denim always does a great job of grounding an ensemble especially when there are multiple eye-catching styles that could potentially compete. I also chose to keep my accessories fairly tame with sleek leather sock booties, gold jewelry, and aviator frames that subtly mimicked the warmth that the outfit radiated. Have you invested in cocoa-colored items this year?? If so, comment your favorite new addition below and until next time!

When I think of fringe, the first thing that usually comes to mind is Western-inspired styles and motifs. Lately I’ve been seeing this detail adorning a variety of garments such as leather and suede jackets, flannel shirts, and even boots! Though this particular feature has not come up frequently in my own wardrobe, I unintentionally decided to give it a try. As most of us are well aware, “shackets” have probably become the most popular piece bought this year. I never jump on the trend bandwagon immediately, but instead make a note of it and wait to see if I come across an item that aligns with my style. To be honest, I had seen quite a few of these garments in color ways and patterns that I liked but for some reason I was still hesitant to pull the trigger; that is, until recently. During an impromptu mall trip, I stumbled across this plaid over-shirt and knew I had to have it. Unlike the others I had seen, the fringe accents really stood out to me and I instantly thought of the dimension and movement it would add to any ensemble I paired it with. Because this was now the standout piece to my look, I wanted to compliment it with simple items that would easily coordinate without taking away from it’s glory. I’ve recently been accumulating a lot more thin knits for layering and I may actually be obsessed! These turtlenecks are one of the easiest things for me to style this time of year, and I probably wear them at least 3 times a week. I’ve also really been into neutral colors like mink an beige, so when I found one in that color, I knew it would be a perfect match with my new outerwear addition. Since the top half of my outfit was already pretty eye-catching, I chose to ground the bottom half with an old pair of faux leather paper bag waist shorts and my OTK (over-the-knee) boots. As a final touch, to compliment the silver studs on my belt, I grabbed my favorite clutch and some simple earrings for a bit of sparkle. I would absolutely consider this a more casual holiday look especially for those (which should be most of us) celebrating this year’s festivities from home. While I absolutely love dressing up for any occasion, especially the holidays, I wanted to style a few more casual options for this year’s festivities considering most celebrations will be small at-home gatherings. Though I haven’t really stocked up on tons of loungewear during the pandemic, I have added a few new sweat suits to my collection. This one in particular is by far the most “formal” due to its neoprene fabric which makes it much more substantial and structured than my cotton options. When it comes to my personal style, one of my favorite things to do is pair casual and dressier items together. Whether it be a band t-shirt, denim, or an old pair of sneakers, this juxtaposition is always one that I tend to gravitate towards. For me, it was a no-brainer that I’d be styling this basic co-ord with a sleek pair of heels. I had actually purchased these satin beauties about 2 years ago for NYE and they still bring me joy every time I wear them! Despite being extremely comfortable, the bow detail across the toe strap always incorporates a cute feminine touch. Once I had these items styled I knew I would need a few more pieces to complete this look. I had recently purchased a new coat for the season which featured an abstract hounds-tooth print. In my opinion, this was the perfect outer layer for the ensemble because it made a classic yet bold statement, against the other black garments. For additional texture, I dusted off and threw on an old quilted chain link bag. I always love bringing new life to items in my closet that I may have forgotten about or took a break from wearing. Lastly, to top off the holiday vibes, I added a bright red lip and was ready to celebrate from the comfort of my own home! Comment below if despite the restrictions you still plan to get fully glam, or if you’re choosing to tone it down this year due to the current circumstances. Until next time!

Finding beauty in the midst of chaos can sometimes feel like an impossible task, but that is exactly what the holidays represent for me this season. Though it would be extremely easy to sit back and dwell on the negative, times like this give us the opportunity to focus on all that we have instead of the hardships that have caused great loss. Personally, I am choosing to end this year on a positive note and I feel incredibly blessed to still have my family, health, and a place to call home. Like most people, I love seeing all of the beautiful decorations and festive inspired décor. That aside, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer more modern takes rather than just the traditional red and green color scheme. When my photographer and I stumbled across this storefront, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to compliment my look! The lush shrubbery and blush tones could not have been a better accent to this neutral Winter ensemble. Sweater dresses are an absolute staple during the colder months and I had seen this one floating around social media on more than one occasion. To my surprise when curating a list of seasonal wardrobe essentials, I noticed it was back in stock and jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Despite going outside less than ever before, I have also been getting tons of wear out of these cream, knee-high boots this year. I’ve had them going on three years now and am pleased to say that they have held up like a dream! To tie these pieces together, I threw on my newest scarf which I was certain I’d get my cost per wear out of from the moment I saw it online. The versatility alone and dual print, which allows me to wear it on either side, makes it a suitable accessory for almost any ensemble. Finally, to complete this outfit, I threw on my favorite blazer for optimal warmth and a pair of statement gold earrings with peal accents. I could easily see myself wearing this look for a casual, intimate holiday gathering with friends and/or family featuring games, movies, and delicious treats! With only a few days until 2020, I wanted to round up a few pieces that could easily be added to existing garments in your current wardrobe to spice up any outfit for the night’s festivities. Though it may not be a hindrance, I’ve come to realize that it’s not always necessary to purchase an entirely new outfit for every event that occurs in life. Also, depending on your NYE plans, it may be as simple as adding a few accessories to elevate an already appropriate ensemble to something slightly more celebratory. Hopefully if you’re still unsure of what to wear or don’t have time to order something new, the items below can provide some inspiration! My holiday attire series would not be complete without an appropriate ensemble for the office and/or all other work related functions. As a corporate girl, happy hour invites are a regular part of the culture and during the holiday season it is to be expected on an even larger scale. In the event the occasion calls for something other than an ugly Christmas sweater, I like to be prepared with something chic and subtly festive than can be reused at a later date. I actually saw this pistachio colored leather dress while shopping for an October island vacation, and though I wasn’t sure of what to do with it at the time, I knew I couldn’t just leave it sitting in my cart! As soon as I received it and tried it on, I could instantly tell it would be the perfect garment for any celebratory events; and when the opportunity arose, I was able to test it out first hand at the company party this year. To dress it up but still keep the frock as the focal piece, I used gold and black accents with pieces I already had in my wardrobe. My tights were actually from my 2018 NYE ensemble and the ankle booties, though slightly more casual, still helped to anchor the look in a seamless way with their metallic accents. To punch up the glam even more, I threw on my layered chain necklace and matching teardrop earrings with metallic flecks. Though I couldn’t pick an overall favorite, I truly loved the versatility that each outfit represented. In my opinion, it’s not about being the most obvious with your looks, but capturing the essence of the season in a sophisticated way. Comment below your favorite of the 3 options and if you would wear them to any other holiday parties/gatherings I did not mention. Until next time!

For the second look of my holiday series, I wanted to focus on attire that would be suitable for any semi-casual gathering with friends. This was an easy ensemble to pull together because it was basically composed of a few of my favorite pieces that I recently added to my wardrobe. I had been looking at these criss-cross jeans for about a month before a pulled the trigger and decided to purchase them; and although they were a bit pricey, I truly have no regrets! For me, the unique closure and boyfriend fit was enough to make me feel confident that I would get more than my cost per wear over the seasons to come. Another piece I have truly been obsessed with is this cream bustier blouse featuring a chic open back panel. In my opinion, these two garments together made for the most perfect street-style magic! That being said, I couldn’t just stop there; after all, it is the most festive time of year! To really get a true sense of the party season, I relied heavily on my accessories to pull this entire look together. For shoes, I pulled out my velvet cranberry colored booties and threw on a red lip to compliment them. Of course no holiday look would be complete without a bit of glitz, so I reached for my favorite chandelier earrings and newest chain-mail bag for an edgy flare. I was lucky enough to shoot this outfit on a day where it wasn’t absolutely freezing, and though it was the clearest of days in terms of sunshine, I was still getting all of the 90’s west coast vibes from this look. I personally don’t think I could ever live in a place that doesn’t get cold during this time of year; but I have to admit, Christmas shopping in a cropped top doesn’t sound all that bad, LOL! I loved this look because it represented exactly how I want to go into the new year; relaxed, cool, and effortless. Until next time!

When I first started planning my holiday outfits, the main thing I had in mind was versatility. This is probably one of the most social times of the year and with that comes tons of themed parties hosted by a multitude of individuals we encounter on a regular basis. That being said, a look for a night out on the town with the girls, may not be appropriate for the family Christmas party with grandma. Therefore, I ended up with a small series of festive garments that covered events with family, friends, and even coworkers. Stay tuned for the rest that are to come, but for now let’s focus on this cozy, yet chic ensemble perfect for any “relative hosted” gatherings. For this outfit, my plan of action was to start from the bottom up. I had been on the hunt for a pair of brown, croc embossed boots all season! Unfortunately, though they didn’t make it in time for Thanksgiving, I knew I still had to style them before the year was over. What ended up being tricky for me, was the overall color palette. Because I was already starting with such a warm-toned statement accessory, I needed to find a way to incorporate holiday feels into this look instead of just the usual autumnal shades. Just when I was beginning to feel defeated, I happened to stumble upon this sparkly frock featuring a knotted detail and bat-winged sleeves. To my surprise, this dress ended up being the perfect addition to the ensemble, despite the fact that its colors were not traditionally “holiday themed.” I loved that it featured a very feminine silhouette that complimented my boots yet was still festive thanks to the metallic effect of the fabric. In efforts to stay weather appropriate, I couldn’t resist layering a thin dark grey turtleneck underneath for added dimension and most importantly, warmth. To play off the shimmery accents, I chose gold as my metal of choice and added a belt to further cinch my waist as well as a matching ring handle bag. I was beyond pleased with how this look came together, and it definitely put me in the festive mod I felt like I had been missing up until this point. There are two types of people in this world when it comes to gathering for the holidays. Those who throw on the comfiest thing they own to lounge in, and those who buy an entire outfit just to sit on the couch and take photos while waiting for the festivities to begin; can you guess which category I fall into? Nonetheless, regardless of where you fit in, I’ve decided to round up a few pieces that I could certainly see myself rocking this turkey day! Whether you’re with friends, family, or a mixture of the two, have an amazing holiday and cherish these moments while you can. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!
