On what felt like the hottest day of the year thus far, I shot this look and though I was sweating throughout the entire process, it was definitely worth it in the end! I personally have a love/hate relationship with styling during the Summer months. At a certain point, even the simplest outfits become too hot and basking in the AC from the comfort of your own home seems like the best option. That being said, life is for the living and on days when I do have plans, I’ve learned to embrace the “less is more” approach. On these sweltering days, I like to stick to one focal piece (jumpsuit, dress, romper, etc.) that will serve as the foundation for the entire look. As my slip dress collection continues to expand, I couldn’t resist highlighting this gorgeous seafoam frock I recently purchased. Aside from the color, what caught my attention most was the halter style which provided the most flattering backless detail. I pride myself on cultivating a versatile wardrobe that consists of pieces that can adapt to a variety of settings and this dress absolutely fits the bill! Whether paired with flat slides at a backyard barbeque or strappy heeled sandals at a wedding, this garment can easily take you from day to night! For accessories, I wanted to keep it classic yet bold, so adding touches of black with my bag, shoes, earrings, and sunglasses allowed for the perfect subtle contrast. All in all, this is an ensemble I look forward to recreating as the season progresses, and as we move into the cooler months (with the addition of a few layers of course, lol). I’ve come to accept the fact that there are certain textiles that I will always gravitate towards regardless of what season we are in. Currently, my love for knits are at an all time high and I refuse to be ashamed of it! For months I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect co-ord that was of quality and did not break the bank; and though it took awhile, I finally found the perfect option. Obviously we are in the midst of Summer, but I still wanted to have a matching set that incorporated pants because for starters it’s something I currently do not own, and I personally believe they are easier to dress-up and elevate than other more casual versions. Purchasing the off-white color way was also a no-brainer because it captured the chic and clean vibe I was looking for. Styling garments like these are always exciting because since you’re essentially working with a blank canvas, the options to accessorize are endless! That being said, because my foundation was already quite stark, I didn’t want to add anything that would throw off the synergy of the look overall. Recently I had also purchased a new pair of tortoise sunnies and absolutely loved the pop of interest they brought when incorporated with this outfit. To further highlight the warm cognac tones, I grabbed a quilted crossbody bag. Lastly, to match the hardware on my purse, I threw on a few gold jewelry pieces and a neutral pair of strappy heeled sandals to complete the look! I truly enjoy an effortless, show-stopping ensemble that makes a statement without needing an abundance of frills and add-ons. Especially with the intense heat we’ve been experiencing lately, I’m choosing to keep my personal style as simple as possible at the moment. Despite the temperatures steadily rising, there has been no shortage of knit garments rolling out from various designers and retailers. I’ve often given thought as to why this could be considering we usually associate this textile with the colder months. That being said, I personally am a fan of the subtle texture and structure that knitwear provides; especially during a time where most people are wearing more common lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, linen, and chambray. When I initially saw this salmon colored co-ord, I was intrigued by the hue but highly skeptical of the fit. Needless to say, I proceeded to place my order and simply hoped for the best. To my surprise the thin and rather clingy fabric was of good quality, and the pieces were extremely comfortable (not overly constricting in any way). This bright shade of coral made the ensemble perfect for the current season and while I was fairly confident wearing it as is, I decided to layer an oversized blazer on top for added elevation and chicness. For shoes, I almost went with something neutral but at the last minute decided to color-block with lime green mules, which created more of a “watermelon-like” palette. To balance the brighter tones and tie in my muted outerwear piece, I added an iridescent pair of sunnies and chandelier earrings featuring pearl accents. Overall, this outfit is more on the preppy side of what I’m used to and definitely had me considering taking up golfing (LOL!). Jokes aside, I’m excited to wear this look out and about and potentially add similar polo-style sets to my wardrobe collection. In my personal opinion, highlighting juxtaposition is the easiest way to create a dynamic outfit. Whether you’re contrasting masculine & feminine pieces, drastically different textures and/or fabrics, I truly believe this is one of they key factors to having an elevated sense of style. Though we are still a few days away from the official start of Summer, the heatwaves have already begun and it’s definitely time to pull out those breathable wardrobe essentials! When it comes to textiles for this time of year, linen is probably one of the most popular. With designer brands like Jacquemus and Cult Gaia leading the pack in terms of vacation-wear, it seems like light and airy garments are more sought after than ever. From the moment I saw this white frock with strappy open-back detailing, I knew it was going to be a staple in my closet over the next few months. I had initially planned to style it a bit later, but after a few 90 degree days, I figured there was no better time than now! Though pairing this dress with heels would’ve been an easy choice, I wanted to bring a bit more edge to this rather dainty piece. Within the last month, I had also recently purchased what has easily become my favorite, and soon to be most worn sandal. These “flatforms” are everything any chic city dweller would need when hitting the pavement for hours on end; cushion, support, grip, and style. It also didn’t hurt that the laces somewhat mirrored my dress accents which made for a nice synergy. With my look nearly complete, I decided to keep my bag fairly neutral with a black and straw crossbody option which really enhanced those picnic or “walk in the park” vibes. Lastly I threw on an angular pair of light tortoise sunnies, and a red lip for a bold pop of color. I truly can’t wait for another opportunity to wear this ensemble and see what Summer 2021 has in store! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Every now and then I get intrigued by just how versatile my style can be. I truly don’t consider myself as being particularly “girly,” but occasionally I find myself drawn to pieces that are more on the feminine side and I can’t help but filter them into my wardrobe. For instance this dress; it’s simply GORGEOUS! I had honestly never seen such a stunning shade of lavender and though this piece did come off a bit “night-gownish,” I threw caution to the wind and decided to give it a try! I actually purchased this garment during the early Spring season and realized it was either now or next year when I would have the opportunity to wear it again. I feel like I’ve been describing a lot of my looks as “effortless” lately, but with quarantine being our new reality, even the idea of getting dressed has become a process I haven’t felt like putting a lot of thought and time into. For this particular outfit, I figured color-blocking would be an interesting approach to styling such a vibrant frock. I added a pair of pale yellow asymmetric mules and layered with a thin white shirt which provided even more movement and texture on this warm, breezy day. I completed the ensemble with a few silver pieces of jewelry and used a bouquet of flowers that my photographer so unexpectedly brought me as an impromptu accessory, which just so happened to match perfectly! This is definitely a look that can take you from day to night, to the boardwalk and back to the city. Comment below your thoughts on these pieces and if you would consider styling any of them as we head into the next season. Until next time!

As we make our way through the final Summer months, the excitement of new trends begin to fill my mind and my style becomes more minimal as I prepare for my favorite layering season. I personally love this look because it is absolutely effortless yet still weather appropriate and chic! Biker shorts are still proving to be a closet essential and though I don’t own many pairs, they definitely come in handy on those super casual days. I chose to balance the spandex with an over-sized striped poplin shirt which really ensured my comfort level was on 1000! While I could have maintained the overall simplicity with a sneaker or flat shoe, this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a statement heel; and lucky for me, I had just bought some. These strappy nude sandals featuring a bright blue bubble heel, instantly elevated this outfit and truly made me feel like I was walking on a piece of art. For those who know me, outerwear, shoes, and accessories (specifically sunglasses and handbags) are typically where I implement the “wow factor” in most of my looks and this one was no exception! To finish off the ensemble I grabbed an old ring handle bag and a few gold pieces of jewelry to coordinate with its hardware. For one last subtle yet unexpected twist, I threw on a pair of tortoise cat-eye sunglasses instead of a black style, as I felt that they highlighted the warmth in the outfit, despite my cool-toned top being a focal piece. Needless to say, I’m ready to give my Autumnal wardrobe a bit of a refresh and break out those knits and blazers that have been hiding in the back of my closet. Can you believe we’re more than half way through 2020?!?!! Comment below what you’re looking forward to most during the upcoming season, and until next time!

One of my favorite things about fashion is the constant reinvention and recycling of trends from the past. With every year, there seems to be a decade piece that really dominates and though we are still quarantined, 2020 has been no exception. With regards to clothing, I would definitely say that this has been the year of the cardigan. Whether you’re drawing styling inspiration from the 60’s or the 90’s, this garment has proven to be a timeless staple that anyone can rock! I was surprised at how influenced I was to reintroduce this piece to my wardrobe, but after coming across this beautiful lilac cable knit with embellished buttons, I couldn’t resist! Because it was so feminine and unlike any item I currently own, I was on a mission to make it fit my personal aesthetic. I decided to wear the cardigan as a top instead of a layering piece, and only buttoned the first fastening to keep it more Summer appropriate. In efforts to add a bit more edge, I threw on a pair of distressed straight-legged jeans and strappy black mules. Accessories were also imperative in finalizing this look, so I continued to play off of the pastel color palette by adding a pale blue bucket bag. Lastly, I added my clear 2000’s inspired sunglasses and my ensemble was complete! Comment below your favorite part of this outfit and whether you’d be interested in giving the cardigan trend a try. Until next time!

*Cues Music* It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you…

In all seriousness though, with everything going on in our country and across the globe, I was left feeling extremely uninspired and unmotivated to shoot my usual content. That being said, I am finally ready to get back into the swing of things and showcase some of the pieces I have purchased during this new quarantined reality. Baby-doll dresses are not something I usually gravitate towards as, due to their shapeless silhouette, they can sometimes make you appear larger than you actually are. To my surprise however, I was greatly intrigued by this neutral colored frock and decided to give it a try. (HINT: Because these dresses are so voluminous you can almost always size down!) Upon receiving the garment, I was instantly sold! The effortless design gave it all of the qualities of the perfect Summer styling piece; chic, casual, and comfortable! I was also free to accessorize however I liked because of the muted color. For footwear, I chose to add my my chunky flatform sandals to the ensemble and my tri-colored cross-body bag featuring gold hardware. In efforts to tie everything together, I finalized the look with an elevated aviator style of sunnies and was ready for a picnic or curbside dining at one of my favorite restaurants. While I’m sure we are all still getting adjusted to the new ways of the world, it does feel good to get back to my passion. Stay tuned for more content on the way, and until next time!
