I think by now this “quarantine life” has gotten to all of us in some way or another. Up until this point, I had never really worked sweat suits into my everyday style, but now, they’re probably what I wear the most! Being comfortable and casual is pretty much the only way to describe my style these days, so I figured why not lean into it and create a look based on the pieces I find myself in majority of the time. This beige co-ord happens to be one of at least four loungewear sets I’ve purchased over the last 6 months. The neutral color and soft cozy fabric instantly attracted me and I knew I had to have it! While I would easily wear this set around the house as is, complimented by my fuzzy slippers, I decided to challenge myself to style it in a way that was a bit more presentable in the event that I was actually leaving the house. I also recently ordered this hybrid faux leather and camel trench coat which I was dying to style before we transition out of the Winter season. Initially when pairing these items, I was concerned that everything would just blend together because of the similar neutral shades. To prevent this from happening, I knew I had to integrate more contrast so each garment could shine on its own. I started by layering the sweater with a thin grey knit. This broke up the tan hues making a clear distinction between the pieces even though they were so close together. To further separate the coat, I added a chunky gold chain-link necklace to really emphasize the stacked fabrics and add a pop of interest since I was working with a very muted palette. Lastly, I knew I didn’t want to opt for basic black boot, so instead I reached for my favorite snake-print style which added some unexpected color and texture to the overall look. To further elevate the ensemble, I kept on my leather gloves which I felt brought a sense of sophistication and practicality. While I was initially hesitant that this outfit would be too plain, I loved how it turned out and look forward to doing more sweat suit styling challenges as 2021 progresses. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but January always feels like the longest month EVER! Between the freezing temperatures, early sunsets, and the fact that we’re still quarantined for the most part, it has definitely been a struggle trying to find the motivation to create content or even get dressed for that matter. Either way the show must go on and despite not doing too much shopping, I have still found a few items recently that have been exciting new additions to my wardrobe. Surprisingly, I actually purchased these trousers last Summer and have been dying to style them! The asymmetric fastening detail, is a trend that I’ve seen growing increasingly popular and I am personally a huge fan. Perhaps this could be a bit unusual for some, but I find it to add a subtle interest to any outfit. Another trend that has seemed to resurface is “two-tone” or color-blocking. I’ve seen this featured in denim, footwear, and most recently, knitwear. This particular mock-neck top instantly caught my eye while online shopping, and I knew I had to have it! The baby blue and cream combination provided an unexpected pop of color while still remaining neutral enough to be paired with almost anything. Since I was working with cool tones for the most part, I really wanted to keep the overall vibe of the ensemble “ski-lodge chic.” To further capture this essence I decided to reach for my cream puffer jacket, which in all honesty I do not wear nearly enough. Finally to tie everything together, I added my blackest shades and newest leather sock boots to match the exposed button on my trousers. Though this was a fairly simple look, I enjoyed incorporating a touch of color to elevate my Winter mood. Comment below if you tend to gravitate towards brighter hues during this time of year, or if you’re all about the darker shades and neutrals. Until next time!

Fringe, though not a new detail, has definitely become a more trendy accent on almost every type of garment recently. From jackets and coats, tops, shoes, bags and more, this chic characteristic does not appear to be making its exit in fashion any time soon! I’ve rounded up a few pieces below that I’ve personally had my eye on lately! Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

When I think of fringe, the first thing that usually comes to mind is Western-inspired styles and motifs. Lately I’ve been seeing this detail adorning a variety of garments such as leather and suede jackets, flannel shirts, and even boots! Though this particular feature has not come up frequently in my own wardrobe, I unintentionally decided to give it a try. As most of us are well aware, “shackets” have probably become the most popular piece bought this year. I never jump on the trend bandwagon immediately, but instead make a note of it and wait to see if I come across an item that aligns with my style. To be honest, I had seen quite a few of these garments in color ways and patterns that I liked but for some reason I was still hesitant to pull the trigger; that is, until recently. During an impromptu mall trip, I stumbled across this plaid over-shirt and knew I had to have it. Unlike the others I had seen, the fringe accents really stood out to me and I instantly thought of the dimension and movement it would add to any ensemble I paired it with. Because this was now the standout piece to my look, I wanted to compliment it with simple items that would easily coordinate without taking away from it’s glory. I’ve recently been accumulating a lot more thin knits for layering and I may actually be obsessed! These turtlenecks are one of the easiest things for me to style this time of year, and I probably wear them at least 3 times a week. I’ve also really been into neutral colors like mink an beige, so when I found one in that color, I knew it would be a perfect match with my new outerwear addition. Since the top half of my outfit was already pretty eye-catching, I chose to ground the bottom half with an old pair of faux leather paper bag waist shorts and my OTK (over-the-knee) boots. As a final touch, to compliment the silver studs on my belt, I grabbed my favorite clutch and some simple earrings for a bit of sparkle. I would absolutely consider this a more casual holiday look especially for those (which should be most of us) celebrating this year’s festivities from home. Christmas is right around the corner and time is not slowing down by any means! Though things are looking quite different for a lot of us this year, I have personally tried my best to maintain a sense of normalcy and do everything I can to get myself in the spirit. Despite all of the changes, hardships, and restrictions overall, I cannot ignore all of the things I have to be grateful for. This year, because so many of us will be spending the holidays from the comfort of our own homes, I wanted to create festive looks that were both comfortable and a bit casual. I have been a fan of sweater dresses for quite some time and I have no doubt that they will remain a closet staple for years to come. Especially in the colder months, they are probably the most effective garment for looking put-together with minimal effort. I recently purchased this grey frock and was instantly pleased with the softness of the fabric, fit, and classic fitted turtleneck style. With such a simple piece to anchor the overall ensemble, I knew I could play up the accessories to really convey those celebratory, holiday vibes. Since I’ve recently moved, I have stumbled across a lot of items in my closet that I forgot I even owned; to my surprise, this faux fur vest was one of them! I remember getting it at least 3 years ago from a consignment shop and absolutely falling in love! The ombre black and white color scheme and texture truly made this a chic showstopper that I knew would be perfect to elevate my look. With nearly 75% of my outfit complete, I knew that accessories would be the icing on this Christmas cake! While rummaging through my old statement jewelry collection, I found this gorgeous silver necklace fully composed of rhinestones and layered chains. This was absolutely the piece I needed to complete my Winter glam look, and to finish it off, I added my favorite croc embossed leather booties. Whether planning to stay at home or traveling to celebrate with loved ones, this is absolutely an outfit I would wear to ring in the festivities. There’s nothing like a huge blanket scarf to keep you warm on those brisk Winter days. Though we are not going outside as much as usual, scarves are still by far one of my favorite cold weather accessories! Below I’ve rounded up a few different styles that have caught my eye and could definitely make easy transitions into your wardrobe. The evolution of leather pieces in fashion seem to constantly evolve. From matte to vinyl, coated, and snake-print, this fabric has truly become quite the transformative wardrobe staple. Recently, croc-prints have appeared to take off as the next trend and I’m certainly not complaining! As a lover of texture, these subtle details provide dimension and interest to any ensemble. The sweetheart neckline has really become a staple trend over the last few years. While this is nothing new, the fusion of this detail with knitwear is something that has not been seen as frequently. In my opinion, this truly brings a more feminine element to the heavier and more bulky fabrics we are used to wearing in the cooler months. Below I’ve rounded up a few pieces that I could definitely see joining my wardrobe collection this season. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

There’s something about sheer pieces in the cooler months that really help to add dimension when it comes to layering outfits. Whether you decide to take on the trend with a sheer top or keep it subtle with a pair of tights, see-through accents are here to stay! The easiest way to break up an entirely neutral or monochrome look would be the pairing of a variety of textures. I tend to rely on this rule most heavily during he cooler months as the color palettes begin to get darker, and it can be trickier to have your wardrobe essentials stand out. Because I knew I was dealing with only two colors for this entire outfit, brown and black, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to test out this theory! I bought this coat recently during one of the huge end of Summer sales and instantly knew it was a statement piece I’d get my cost per wear out of this season, and many more to come. Snake-print is another trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, so I was more than happy to add this beauty to my closet. Knowing this would be the focal piece, I wanted to find a way to layer other garments under it that were understated enough not to clash, but also eye-catching. After a bit more browsing online and through my own collection, I finally put it together! I chose a sheer, black checkered top and a mini skirt which proved to be the most perfect combination. The pieces were simple yet edgy and though they may have come off a bit risque on their own, under the bold trench, they were every bit of chic! For the first time this season, I also pulled out my favorite croc embossed black booties. These tied the look together and kept the ensemble streamlined while still adding height and balance against the more revealing pieces. Lastly, I finished off the look with my brown gradient aviator frames and a few gold rings. Personally, I feel like this outfit is my most accurate portrayal of transitional Fall dressing and I’m excited to see how my style evolves from here.
