It may be a shock that blue is not a favorite color of mine as it seems to be a common factor in a lot of my recent looks. That being said, whether this hue is currently on trend or I’m just organically gravitating towards it, I am enjoying the presence it’s been having in my wardrobe. Usually when shopping for pieces to shoot, I tend to seek out at least one item that is either statement-making or something that I am able to transform and style in an unexpected way. Of course, while there may be an excitement that comes with that, every now and then I like to scale things back and style a more “obvious” look. Most retailers are currently promoting their new Spring/Summer collections and with that comes an abundance of vibrant colors, bold prints, and vacation-wear galore. So, in efforts to create an ensemble that I felt completely embodied the season, I chose to keep things simple with a floral blouse and straight-legged denim (ground-breaking, I know). I’m not quite sure what it was, but these garments together truly gave me the effortless feel I was hoping to portray. While the blue shade was probably the subtlest in the overall pattern of the shirt, when paired with the extremely light wash jeans, it seemed to become the most eye-catching. To keep the outfit delicate and minimal, I decided to complete it with a pair of strappy white mules which were absolutely perfect for my simplistic theme. Lastly, to take the cool tones one step further, I gave a nod to the 90’s with a pair of tinted frames featuring the most nostalgic aqua-colored lenses. I feel like I’ve been a huge fan of the “less is more” motto when it comes to my styling lately and truly believe that not every outfit has to necessarily have “shock value” to be great or attention-grabbing. Comment below your favorite piece from this look and what Spring trends (new or old) you’re most anticipating this season. Until next time!

When styling prints I’ve always had a preference towards darker florals. They always seem to create eye-catching moments while still remaining neutral enough to wear in a variety of ways. Below I’ve rounded up a few pieces that have caught my eye lately. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks! Until next time!

While I consider my style to be pretty versatile, there are a few pieces that I tend to repeat and can’t seem to get enough of. I’ve never been one to shy away from prints; the most prevalent in my wardrobe probably being florals. I honestly don’t know what it is about a dark floral pattern that always seems to pull me in and immediately want to style whatever item they are featured on. Most commonly, and probably the easiest garments to style would have to be dresses. I don’t think I need to reiterate exactly what makes them one of the most effortless pieces you can wear, but it’s no secret that a floral frock can have you looking put together in a matter of minutes! This one for instance had all the eye-catching elements I would look for when purchasing a focal piece; so much so that I barely had to put in any additional effort to complete the ensemble. The patchwork print, scoop neck, and neutral buttons down the front really made this dress everything I could have asked for and more! The only detail that I was not so keen on was a sash that came tied around the waist. In my opinion, the idea of a belt for this look was totally unnecessary and slightly overkill. Luckily, it was removable so I decided to use it as an extra accent on my bag strap to further compliment the dress. I wanted to keep the Summery feel while still adding a bit of edge, so I felt like this structured wicker and leather cross-body was the best option. I then completed the look with my favorite minimal mules and was out the door! While I do love dressing up, every now and then I like to style easy looks that require minimal thought and easily come together without a lot of fuss. This outfit is the epitome of that and I was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! I’m also looking forward to styling this dress with thigh high boots and a leather jacket in the Fall, so stay tuned. Until next time!

After experiencing a Winter that felt like it would never end and wildly inconsistent temperatures, it appears that half way through the year we have FINALLY received the stable Summer weather we’ve all been looking forward to. At this point, while it can become slightly unbearable at times, I choose to not complain and make the most of it! In my personal experiences, I’ve found that most fashion lovers are generally not very fond of this season when it comes to styling outfits; which is totally understandable being that staying cool and comfortable tend to be top priority when getting dressed. While I do share the same sentiment, I also love a good challenge! Upon finding these printed shorts I initially knew I liked them, however I wasn’t sure how they would look with my skin tone or what I would pair them with. That being said, the paper bag waist and thin linen-like fabric definitely made them a potential staple when it came to shopping for this ensemble. Because the bottom half was fairly muted, I wanted to make sure that I completed the look with pieces that would pop and create a contrast that also highlighted the pattern on the shorts. Recently I’ve noticed a lot of lattice cut out tops and blouses on the market and while I wasn’t sure if they’d actually fit my personal style, I was willing to give this one a try. To my surprise, though these two pieces may seem like an odd pair, somehow they provided the exact juxtaposition I was looking for! Due to the abundance of intricate details in the top alone, I knew I didn’t have to worry about accessorizing very much. I kept it simple with a pair of stud earrings and some white heeled sandals to tie everything together. Personally, I am quite a fan of how this look turned out and am definitely looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and pairing pieces that may not seemingly fit together at first glance. Let me know in the comments how you would’ve styled these shorts and if you would rock my look. Until next time!

Recently, co-ords and blazers have really made a statement in my wardrobe and given the season we are currently in, it only made sense that I would feature a few with floral prints. Suits and separates are great because of the versatility that comes with them whether wearing them together or apart. Blazers in particular however, are definitely a timeless favorite due to their ability to make any outfit effortlessly chic when thrown over even the most basic pieces. Below I’ve rounded up a few styles that have caught my eye. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

More than ever, I have really taken a liking to florals this season. It may have something to do with the fact that the prints are a lot more “moody” in the sense that they consist of darker tones which have honestly always been my preference. Garments with bold patterns such as these, whether vibrant or not, can also turn the most simple ensemble into a statement making look with minimal hassle or thought. I was drawn to this particular frock mainly because (as much as I love wearing black in the Winter) I like to challenge myself to bring a little color into my outfits during the Autumn season. Aside from that, I thought the length and classic fit of the dress was very flattering as well as feminine. In efforts to keep the look weather appropriate, I opted for my grey suede OTK boots, which somehow ended up being the perfect neutral piece for this particular look. It’s no secret that I am utterly OBSESSED with thigh-highs and am currently debating on my next style for this season; something bold perhaps? In true ASM fashion, I must always have an edgy element of contrast so I grabbed this over-sized vintage denim jacket (thanks Mom). The pairing of the outerwear piece was so necessary to me because aside from being practical and a true representation of where we are during this time of year, it also brought another layer of effortlessness to the entire outfit. After finishing off the look with one of my favorite dark nude lippies, I was on my way and out the door! As I style blogger, I really think it’s important to style looks that I would wear in my day to day life and provide suggestions without necessarily adhering to the “rules” and guidelines that we are told to follow. All in all, it’s just clothes so it’s only right that we experiment and wear what makes us feel most comfortable and confident! Comment below if you’re a fan of “moody florals,” brighter patterns, or none of the above. Until next time!

One of the first looks I shot when I first started my blog was a burgundy suit; and though I don’t wear them often, my love for the style has never faded. In my opinion, there’s something so powerful, chic, and sexy about a woman rocking this tailored look that never ceases to turn heads and stand out from the crowd. Though I felt like I was long overdue to style a set like this, the idea seemed to come at the most perfect time. Fall and Winter florals are a huge trend and this co-ord set couldn’t be more perfect for the season. The contrast of tones on these pieces make for the most beautifully bold, yet unexpectedly neutral look. That being said, I didn’t want to add anything that would distract from the print itself so I gravitated towards all black accessories and gold hardware. I found this mesh bodysuit that I thought was subtle enough not to take away from the ensemble, but still added a bit of edge on its own. Since my bag has a statement ring detail for the handle, I chose to keep things uniform and rock my new gold hoops that I recently picked up as well. It honestly amazes me how we can go through seasons of falling in and out of love with different styles and trends. During my middle and high school days, I was beyond obsessed with gigantic hoop earrings and would never complete an outfit without them. I must say though after years of only rocking studs, I forgot how much I loved the look and might have to start up a new collection again, lol. I have absolutely no complaints about this look and may try to incorporate more sophisticated pieces into my wardrobe this season. Let me know in the comments if you’re a lover of suits or prefer to keep it casual. Until next time!

As excited as I am for the Fall season, I can’t help but feel the urge to get in my last few summer-y looks before I literally do not have the option. With the mindset of creating more “transitional” outfits, I gravitated towards these minimal satin heeled sandals that I’ve been eyeing for months. I know what you’re thinking, “they’re so bright!” True indeed, however, orange hues are very prominent during the autumn and these beauties in particular are absolutely perfect for adding a pop of color to any neutral or denim looks that I tend to gravitate towards as the temperatures begin to drop. Being that these shoes were definitely the focal point of this look, I continued to build from the ground up. I must say that the association of floral prints only being acceptable during the Spring and Summer months, is definitely a thing of the past. Year-round florals have been a trend for the last few seasons and I’m certainly willing to embrace it! I loved the contrast of my tangerine colored footwear, against the cool tones of this dress. Though some may consider it bold, I felt that the two pieces provided a nice balance for each other which stabilized the entire look. For accessories, I decided to do something I haven’t done in a while and that was style this look with a bag. My navy blue monogrammed cross-body was definitely the perfect element needed to complete this ensemble and I was quite pleased with the final result. I love outfits like this because while each piece can work seamlessly together, they can also stand on their own and add a completely different vibe when paired with other items. Whether it be a leather jacket, sneakers, or a funky pair of jeans, I love the versatility of clothing and the endless ways to mix and match. Let me know in the comments below if you are excited for the change in season or if you’re not quite done with Summer yet. Until next time!

Floral prints for summer is one of the annual staple trends that will never get old! This time, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite tops in a variety of styles to keep you on trend no matter what your style is. Whether boho, classic, trendy, or minimal, everyone can rock a print that fits their wardrobe needs. Don’t forget to click the images below to shop my picks; until next time!

Two thoughts came to mind when I first laid eyes on the dress: “It’s absolutely stunning and it totally reminds me of something that would’ve been worn in the 70’s!” As we all know, I am VERY picky when it comes to the floral prints I wear and typically tend to gravitate towards pieces that I can pair with other neutral items. That being said, deciding to purchase this pleated maxi was slightly out of my comfort zone considering there was no way I could really tone down the vibrant head-to-toe print. All in all, I decided to take the plunge and add this gorgeous dress to my collection. Another thing that is pretty common throughout my style is my love of contrast, so a major selling point for me with this garment was the subtle but edgy rhinestone detailing along the bust and arm seams. In efforts to continue embracing the Summer colors and further accentuate the retro vibe, I purchased a pair of aviators with orange tinted lenses that ended up looking pretty cool if I do say so myself. While paying homage to decades past, tinted frames have become quite popular this year starting with yellow lenses and quickly expanding to pretty much any color you can think of. I’m personally a huge fan of this trend and thought these frames made for the perfect accessory to add to this look. I kept my footwear simple with a pair of minimal block heeled sandals and was good to go! After taking a week’s long vacation, it feels great to get back to posting and I hope you guys like this look as much as I enjoyed styling it! Let me know your opinions in the comments below and whether you think there’s such thing as too much floral, lol. Until next time!
