Why wear a top when you can wear a bodysuit??? In all seriousness, whoever came up with this garment truly deserves an award. I mean, it completely takes the hassle out of bulky styling and guarantees a seamless look every time! So what’s not to love??! From the moment I saw this piece online, I was instantly obsessed and knew I had to have it. From the cut out detail and one-shoulder design, this bodysuit is a complete showstopper to say the least! And how could I forget, it’s NEON! Now if I’m being completely honest, I don’t have or even want a large amount of fluorescent items in my wardrobe. That being said, I do believe there is a time, place, and way to style them that can still contribute to a chic ensemble. Because my top was so bright and a bit revealing, I chose to balance out the look with a looser fitting pair of trousers in a neutral beige color. These tailored pants are so comfortable and provided the sophisticated element I needed to complete my outfit. I wanted my accessories to pop without being distracting so I figured the contrast of black against the lighter colors would do the trick. Lastly, I also decided to play with tonal accents and grabbed a bag in a much darker green shade to add some dimension and variety within the range of the color palette. This look definitely screams “Summer brunch vibes” and it still saddens me that life as we once knew it pre-quarantine may never be the same. On a lighter note, comment your favorite item that was featured and where you would wear it now that our day to day has become much more restricted. Until next time!

Satin has got to be one of the most popular fabrics during the Summer months. Despite the fact that it is lightweight and breathable, this material also allows for beautiful movement that really highlights the softness of the garment. While I have recently discussed my ever growing slip dress collection, my first introduction to satin pieces were definitely in the form of skirts! I love how versatile these pieces are and how they truly can be styled all year round with just a few additional layers. For this ensemble however, I kept things seasonally appropriate and semi-casual. Because I chose to keep the bottom half of the look completely neutral, it was imperative that I add some color for a bit of interest. This season in particular, I’ve really been drawn to vibrant pops of color and this hot pink crop top was no exception! From the moment I saw this statement making item, I knew it would be the perfect add-on for a plain look that just needed some extra spice. Though the outfit was nearly complete, it was still too simple for my liking. In efforts to seamlessly tie everything together, I grabbed my personalized denim jacket, my light beige wicker bag, and some classic black sunnies for a contrasting element. In my opinion, this would be the perfect beach day/boardwalk look or even suitable for a nice picnic lunch. Let me know in the comments if this is something you could see yourself styling and until next time!

So long are the days of wearing garments for one singular purpose! In my personal experience, especially while growing up, cardigans were always meant for layering when the temperature of the destination was uncertain. Lately however, I’ve noticed these knits gaining more respect and moving from the typical “add-on” piece to one of the focal items in various ensembles. Below I’ve rounded up a few options that I could absolutely see myself styling currently and during the upcoming seasons. Don’t forget to click the images for direct links to shop and until next time!

While there have been quite a few colors really making an impact in fashion this season, I couldn’t help but notice a consistent trend of blue. Specifically with regards to footwear, I’ve seen both luxury and high street retailers produce a version of a heeled sandal in this similar hue. Check out the styles I’ve rounded up below, and don’t forget to click the images for direct links to shop! Until next time!

There’s something about a lightweight suit in the Summer that truly makes you feel empowered, strong, chic, and ready for just about anything. What I love most about this look is the casualness that comes with such a traditionally structured garment. We often associate suits with the office, business, or formal events. Yet in the warmer months, they become a bit more carefree and a much “cooler” version of what we expect them to be. When I first came across this set, I was drawn in by the bold pattern, as well as the overall color scheme. At first glance, this may look like your average neutral checked suit; however after close inspection, there are fine lines of blue piping throughout which really make this set even more special. As a lover of contrast who also appreciates a good pop of color, it was a no-brainer for me to immediately pair this co-ord with my newest heeled sandals in a bright sapphire shade as well. In efforts to not overly saturate the ensemble, I toned things down with a knit grey crop-top for some added balance. To finish off the look, I threw on a large pair of gold framed sunnies and was on my way! This is yet another example of how versatile garments can be; so do yourself a favor and step out of the box! Just because something is labeled as being meant for a conference, doesn’t mean you can’t rock it to the park! Until next time!

My how time flies when you’re doing what you love! Exactly 5 years ago, on the first day of Spring, March 2015, the website for A Styled Mind was launched. At that time I was excited, nervous, and in no way prepared for all that I would learn along this journey. The challenges made for exponential growth, and the frustrations allowed room for me to hone in on my vision while planting the seed for what my platform could become. Seeing the evolution of my personal style, photography, and overall confidence in the fashion/influencer space has truly made me realize the importance of consistency, dedication, and quality work. While it would be impossible for me to try and predict what’s next, I can only hope for more accomplishments and opportunities, while I continue expressing myself through clothing. My mind is full of ideas and I still have tons of different content genres I’d like to expand the ASM brand into; menswear styling, fitness, cooking, and interior design to name a few.

Sooner than later, I’d love to work on building a team to support me in the expansion of my platform. As with any entrepreneurial venture, there are tons of sacrifices that must be made along the way, but with a strong foundation and loyal community, eventually the hard work will pay off and the fruits of your labor will be that much sweeter! Regarding future goals for the next 5 years, I’d love to have a capsule collection with a brand I am personally a fan of, run ASM full time, speak on a variety of panels geared towards the empowerment of women, have a feature in a global fashion magazine, and attend a luxury fashion show in either Paris or Milan. Though I don’t know where or how this journey ends, I am forever grateful for the support, kind words, and interest in my brand since the very beginning! Let’s cheers to 5 more shall we?!

Working in corporate, I am no stranger to the classic button down shirt. That being said, I’ve also never been afraid to push the envelope with my style and incorporate more fun, eye-catching elements. Below I’ve rounded up a few pieces that I would consider a more elevated take on the transitional work-wear garments we know and love. When I think of NYE, most of the time an elaborate celebration featuring over the top outfits and partying until the early hours of the morning comes to mind. That said, there are multiple ways one could bring in the new year. For that reason, I decided to style a festive look that would be more appropriate for an at home celebration or something that is just overall more low-key. Coincidentally, when I stumbled upon this particular top, I was actually shopping for garments for my Christmas blog posts. I had also been invited to a holiday party that same weekend so I figured it would make for an easy option to throw on for that event as well. Though I was hesitant about whether I would actually wear it, by the time I got home and tried it on I was convinced! I loved that this metallic blouse wasn’t so obviously silver or gold, which gave me room to play around with the jewelry I decided to pair it with. Additionally, and probably my favorite thing about this piece; it’s reversible! Having the option to wear the plunging neckline in either the front or the back was definitely a bonus and made this purchase that much more worth it! For bottoms, I chose an old vinyl pair of trousers which in an interesting way, still highlighted the sparkle of my top and complimented it perfectly. While I had previously worn silver accents, for this shoot I decided to try gold jewelry and was pleasantly surprised with how everything came together. Since my hair was up, I sported my newest stud earrings and matching pendant as well as an assortment of gold rings. Lastly, for one final element of glitz, I chose to wear my gold-capped black pumps to seamlessly complete the look. Since we used a hotel setting for this photo shoot, my vision of a cozy NYE curled up on the couch surrounded by candles truly came to life! I’m still not quite sure what I’ll be doing this year, but at least I know if I stay in I can still look a bit festive. Comment below whether you’re more of a homebody or prefer to be out on the town for NYE. Until next time!

For the second look of my holiday series, I wanted to focus on attire that would be suitable for any semi-casual gathering with friends. This was an easy ensemble to pull together because it was basically composed of a few of my favorite pieces that I recently added to my wardrobe. I had been looking at these criss-cross jeans for about a month before a pulled the trigger and decided to purchase them; and although they were a bit pricey, I truly have no regrets! For me, the unique closure and boyfriend fit was enough to make me feel confident that I would get more than my cost per wear over the seasons to come. Another piece I have truly been obsessed with is this cream bustier blouse featuring a chic open back panel. In my opinion, these two garments together made for the most perfect street-style magic! That being said, I couldn’t just stop there; after all, it is the most festive time of year! To really get a true sense of the party season, I relied heavily on my accessories to pull this entire look together. For shoes, I pulled out my velvet cranberry colored booties and threw on a red lip to compliment them. Of course no holiday look would be complete without a bit of glitz, so I reached for my favorite chandelier earrings and newest chain-mail bag for an edgy flare. I was lucky enough to shoot this outfit on a day where it wasn’t absolutely freezing, and though it was the clearest of days in terms of sunshine, I was still getting all of the 90’s west coast vibes from this look. I personally don’t think I could ever live in a place that doesn’t get cold during this time of year; but I have to admit, Christmas shopping in a cropped top doesn’t sound all that bad, LOL! I loved this look because it represented exactly how I want to go into the new year; relaxed, cool, and effortless. Until next time!
