At this point, most designers have found a way to incorporate the lace up trend onto basically every garment imaginable. For this time of year however, I’ve seen an abundance of tops and sweaters incorporating this trend and fashionistas everywhere (myself included) rocking it to its full potential. Check out a few of the pieces I’ve gathered below, and let me know what you think of this trend! Until next time!
We have seen the lace-up trend take the fashion world by storm since spring/summer 2015. It was first introduced in the form of bodysuits, but has since expanded into other pieces including dresses, trousers, and a popular favorite, sweaters. Like most, I was quite a fan of this trend and appreciated the extra edginess it gave many otherwise traditional garments that we already know and love. This sweater in particular incorporated a few other trends that made it a “must-have” for me, including the high-low hem, super soft fuzzy texture, and mauve hue. To keep the sweater as the focal point of this look but still add a bit of interest, I decided to pair the top with my vegan leather biker trousers that have remained a fall staple in my wardrobe for about 4 seasons now (sadly, I may have to replace them soon 🙁 ). I decided to keep the rest of my accessories minimal with a solid black choker necklace and my single strap heeled sandals. In order to lighten up the color scheme and balance out all of the black, I decided to throw on an over-sized vintage denim jacket which gave the look a cool, effortless feel. As I’ve stated a million times before, I love allowing my garments to speak for themselves and play up the eye-catching details that make them unique. This is definitely a look that I will be rocking in many different variations this season whether with boots, sneakers, jeans or a trench. That’s the fun part about fashion, the options are endless! Until next time!

As I’ve been fully into the swing of Fall fashion, I couldn’t let this season pass without creating a look with the classic autumn shade, olive. Like burgundy, navy, and rust, olive is another color that annually graces runways and retailers as we move toward the winter months. Though I’m not the biggest fan of green, I happen to love olive because of its versatility and neutral-like qualities that make it easy to pair with other colors, my favorite being brown tones. When I saw this cropped jumpsuit I was instantly attracted to its tailored style, cut-out, and back tie detail. As this would also be a great piece for some of the warmer Spring months, in efforts to stay weather appropriate, I layered it with a ribbed bodysuit for extra warmth. To be honest, I probably would never have paired these shoes and bag together under any other circumstances but for some odd reason the slight clashing of the browns was somewhat appealing to me. I’ve said before, fashion is not something that should be taken too seriously. Experiment, take risks, and most importantly be confident in whatever you decide to wear and if it doesn’t work out, it’s still a lesson learned. Until next time!

Rusts and burnt orange tones are probably one of the most reoccurring color palettes used when it comes to fall fashion. Aside from being trendy, it is a shade that is reminiscent of the flowers and leaves that begin to turn as we prepare for Winter. Below are some of the rust colored pieces that have caught my eye lately. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks! Happy shopping!
I find inspiration all around me when thinking of new looks to style and in my opinion, the Fall season has the most unique elements to choose from. For this look, I wanted to create an ensemble reminiscent of the rich brown and orange tones in the leaves as they begin to turn. I have been longing to break out my thigh high boots all summer, and now is finally the perfect time! Over the last few seasons my mini skirt collection has also grown, and I knew this one would be perfect for an autumn look as soon as I picked it up. The soft suede texture and bronze hardware really captured the essence of this time of year and because it is pretty neutral, it left me a lot of room to find a matching piece. I honestly, don’t think I could have found a more perfect blouse to pair with this skirt. The warm hues in the floral print as well as the slight frills on the sleeves and around the collar, really brought this look together and added a softer feminine touch. As I wanted to keep the focus on the clothing items I hardly wore any accessories and just threw on an open front cardigan to add a bit more dimension and layering. I absolutely love the Fall and looks like these because they are very buildable. On a colder day, add some tights, a leather jacket, and a scarf; if it gets a bit warmer opt for a lighter denim jacket and short booties. I intend to make the most out of this weather before it gets too cold and cute (practical) outerwear is my only option. Until next time!

Velvet, or velveteen, is a huge reoccurring trend that takes the fashion world by storm annually during the fall and winter months. I, personally, am a huge fan of the fabric and love the contrast it brings to different ensembles when paired with leather or denim. If I were to create a look that embodied all of my favorite fall fashion trends, this would probably be it! I’ve been obsessed with navy for quite a while now, and I don’t see my love for the shade fading any time soon. Especially for this time of year, ensembles that incorporate rich colors and tones always seem to stand out the most. Another hue that is constantly reoccurring in the colder months is burgundy. There’s something about the deep wine toned red that always seems to take over my closet in some form or another and this year, it came in the style of velvet boots! Now, velvet is a HUGE trend right now to say the least and being a lover of texture, I just couldn’t pass up on these shoes. I love darker colors because in some ways they can act as neutrals in that they can be paired with almost anything, and as soon as I purchased this off the shoulder top, I knew they would be perfect together! The dual textures in the shirt, mixed with the raw hem of my culotte jeans, and suede belt created an interesting 70’s style vibe that I truly hadn’t intended but absolutely loved! And as if I didn’t already have my fill of navy, I added my personalized, pebble grained leather, “Madison” crossbody bag that I also adore! All in all, this look was full of amazing textures, fall colors, and trends galore. So what’s not to love?! Until next time! 🙂

I’ve recently noticed a common factor in a few of my handbags…FRINGE. I’m not sure what it is about this textured detail that elevates any ensemble but the subtle movement it brings, I simply cannot resist. Whether it be in the style of a crossbody, backpack, or traditional purse, I am totally here for this trend! To be honest, this look was completely inspired by street style. I had been seeing so many trendy girls rocking midi-length floral dresses with leather jackets lately, I knew I had to add one to my collection. During the cooler months it’s easy to get stuck in the “pants-only” rut, so I decided to challenge myself and continue to style more feminine pieces for a bit longer. I’ve never been a fan of super bright florals so when I saw this pattern I was instantly attracted to the subdued neutral tones that were incorporated. Aside from that I was also drawn to the lace overlay and the eye catching cold-shoulder detail. All in all, this dress was everything I was looking for and I knew exactly how I wanted to style it! A few blog posts ago, I fell in love with the Stan Smith Adidas sneakers and since then I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of my own. While I didn’t end up getting that exact pair, I opted for the new “superstars” that are just as versatile and fit perfectly into my wardrobe. One color that I don’t typically accessorize with is grey, but I noticed hints of it in the dress and thought it would make for an interesting accent color to tie the look together. With that in mind, I finished the look off with my fringe crossbody bag and matching choker. This ensemble turned out to be everything I had imagined for the fall season and I can’t wait to style this dress again, maybe with some booties and a cute jacket. Who knows what I’ll come up with, but until next time!

Mesh & tulle fabrics have become quite popular in fashion recently. I personally love layering with them because they add an extra element of dimension and edge to any look, especially in the cooler months.
