I wholeheartedly agree that animal patterns are neutrals, and after my fair share of experimenting with leopard and snake prints, zebra has become my latest obsession! Since I naturally lean towards cool tones, the black and white design easily complements my everyday silver jewelry and almost any color I pair it with. Earlier in the season I shot a reel featuring a printed skirt, clutch, and closed-toe pumps. Despite thinking that my collection of safari-themed pieces was complete, shortly after posting, I stumbled upon a dress that I just couldn’t let pass me by. This mini frock was super cute and playful while still maintaining an essence of femininity and ease. In addition to the bold print, I also loved the intricate lace trim that made the garment appear even more delicate and flirty. Being the lover of juxtaposition that I am, I had to balance the overall daintiness with something casual and possibly edgy. My mission was to keep the “I just threw something on” vibe; therefore, layering with an oversized button-up seemed like the perfect option. As much as turtlenecks are the foundation for my fall/winter wardrobe, I could easily say the same about shirts during the warmer months. With so many styles to choose from, I figured now was not the time to play it safe, and I opted for the brightest pink I could find in my closet. I grounded the look with black accessories and a tinted pair of frames that truly allowed me to see the world through rose-colored glasses. This summer I’ve really been into taking risks with the items I choose to wear, while simultaneously not taking any of it too seriously. I’ve been doing this long enough to know that my personal style speaks for itself, and as long as I’m having fun with it, I’ll more than likely enjoy the outcome.
