The increased popularity of slip dresses over the last few years is something that I don’t see slowing down any time soon. What I personally love most about them, is the countless styling opportunities that truly make it a year-round staple. In my opinion, Summer is probably the easiest season to style them because there is really no need for layering. However that being said, because these frocks are such simple and dainty pieces, it can take a little more thought to cultivate an ensemble that still has some type of dimension and interest. My slip dress collection has continued to grow with each season, and it should be no surprise that the black version is definitely my most worn. In efforts to add a bit more variety and fill a void in my wardrobe, I jumped at the opportunity to be gifted a cream-colored style which had recently caught my eye. Upon receiving, I was thrilled with the quality and determined to play off of the feminine details, while adding pieces that would provide an unexpected juxtaposition. I had also recently purchased my first pair of colorful sneakers, (every other pair I own are either black and/or white) and was anxious to style them ASAP! Because I was essentially working with a blank canvas, this was the perfect opportunity to add a street-style flare to such a delicate garment. Additionally, for a bit more structure, I thought it would be cool to throw on an over-sized blazer which helped balance the look overall. For accessories, minimal silver jewelry and my geometric frames helped tie everything together and complete my vision. This honestly may be one of my favorite Summer looks to date due to all of the elements and style genres that were combined to create this outfit. There’s something about a lightweight suit in the Summer that truly makes you feel empowered, strong, chic, and ready for just about anything. What I love most about this look is the casualness that comes with such a traditionally structured garment. We often associate suits with the office, business, or formal events. Yet in the warmer months, they become a bit more carefree and a much “cooler” version of what we expect them to be. When I first came across this set, I was drawn in by the bold pattern, as well as the overall color scheme. At first glance, this may look like your average neutral checked suit; however after close inspection, there are fine lines of blue piping throughout which really make this set even more special. As a lover of contrast who also appreciates a good pop of color, it was a no-brainer for me to immediately pair this co-ord with my newest heeled sandals in a bright sapphire shade as well. In efforts to not overly saturate the ensemble, I toned things down with a knit grey crop-top for some added balance. To finish off the look, I threw on a large pair of gold framed sunnies and was on my way! This is yet another example of how versatile garments can be; so do yourself a favor and step out of the box! Just because something is labeled as being meant for a conference, doesn’t mean you can’t rock it to the park! Until next time!

While I don’t typically feature luxury items, I have always been a fan of quality. When styling, I love nothing more than mixing and matching different pieces. Whether it be through textures, prints, or fashion genres, this trick in my opinion always helps bring more dimension and interest to an ensemble. I received this floral crop top and honestly didn’t have a clear direction regarding what I wanted to pair it with. Jeans seemed like the easy way out, but I wanted to push myself a little harder. Instead, I settled on a cream-colored denim mini skirt that kept the same casual element I seemed to be leaning towards, while also perfectly matching the tones in my top. Believe it or not, I was completely stumped at this point. I was pleased with how the two garments I had looked together, but for me, the look was far from complete and just fell a bit flat. Being a girl who NEVER plans her outfits in advance, it’s no surprise that more times than not, I’m usually finalizing my style creations the morning of my shoot and adding finishing touches that I wasn’t able to think of in the days prior. I decided to give my AF1’s a break and revisit my trusty Vans for footwear. Still, the ensemble was giving me unrefined middle-school vibes. In the final moments I had before I needed to get ready, as usual, the vision came to me. I pulled a striped blazer from a suit set that I haven’t worn in quite some time and saw the look instantly elevate before my eyes. Since I decided to forego a bag, I relied on my accessories to save the day. Lately, I have become more of a jewelry wearer, with a slight obsession for rings. That said, I made sure to incorporate some gold pieces with a coordinating cuff bracelet and my small hoops. After adding a round pair of frames, I was finally satisfied and ready to SLAY! When developing your personal style, I think it’s so important to try new things and step out of your comfort zone; you never know, you might just stumble upon an odd combination you like! Until next time!

More often than not, there’s usually one specific piece that becomes the catalyst when creating my outfits. In this specific instance it was this fun vinyl tote from Jeff Wan. I was lucky enough to have been selected for this collaboration and though I was excited for the styling, it took me some time to figure out where to start. Based on the style of bag as well as the bold pineapple stamp, I immediately decided to use the beach as my theme and inspiration. I had already had this one-shoulder asymmetric top in my closet and had been meaning to use it in a blog post since the day I brought it home. During my shopping session, I was initially leaning towards a flowy wide-legged pant, but unfortunately could not find anything that suited my vision. After browsing the sale section, I also picked up cream blazer as an addition to my wardrobe staples; with no intention of using it for this particular look. As I arrived at my final store location of the day, these striped shorts caught my attention without hesitation I knew that they would be perfect! They instantly reminded me of those giant beach umbrellas and before I knew it, my look was coming together right before my eyes. Because my bag had brown accents, I decided to incorporate a pair of suede mules in the same color to add a bit of cohesiveness. To elevate the look, I made a last-minute decision to drape the blazer I had purchased over my shoulders, which really helped to provide dimension and a touch of sophistication to the ensemble overall. For jewelry, in efforts to highlight the gold button detail on my sleeve, I added a matching pair of dangling earrings and was ready to roll! This outfit truly gave me all of the chic vacation feels and I am undoubtedly pleased with how it turned out. Honestly speaking, the idea of going to a festival of any kind has never really appealed to me; the long lines, poor cell phone reception, lack of seating, and let’s not forget that I am on the shorter side. That being said, when I was contacted by the lovely team at Calvin Klein to style a few pieces from their festival edit collection, I was ready and willing to take on the challenge, and style a look that reflected my personal style as well as the iconic brand. When I think of CK, themes of minimalism, comfort, and all-around essential wardrobe staples come to mind. I also wanted to make it a point to select pieces that could easily serve as the foundation for more elaborate looks that may be transformed to fit any number of the Summer festivities that are quickly approaching. In short, I didn’t think I could go wrong with a classic pair of denim and a simple top. Though the “mom jean” has really taken off as probably the most popular fit at the moment, I decided to throw it back to an old favorite of mine; the boyfriend jean. In my opinion, this relaxed style truly captures the essence of the CK brand and gives a nod to the effortless style of the 90’s that I personally love. Instead of opting for a signature slogan tee, I was pleasantly surprised to see a bodysuit featuring a cross-strap keyhole detail on the back that gave the most flattering silhouette. I was instantly sold and thrilled that each piece, though fairly plain, had unique eye-catching elements that made them pop in the subtlest way. To dress up the look a bit more, I decided to add a blazer; however, this wasn’t just any blazer, it was a menswear blazer kindly passed down from my oh-so-generous Father. Any oversized piece of outerwear would have sufficed, but I was drawn to the gorgeous floral printed lining and felt that it was an unexpected touch that gave a fun, seasonal flare. To complete the look, I opted for white heeled sandals, gold earrings and frames to match the metallic clasp on the shoe. All and all, while understated, I was pleased with how this look turned out and encourage you all to head over to the Calvin Klein website to spruce up your Spring/Summer wardrobe with versatile pieces for every occasion! The weather is finally warming up, so I decided to test the waters and show off a bit of skin with this look. While doing some online research, I was instantly drawn to this camel colored suit. However, though the belted jacket did in fact come with a pair of matching trousers, I thought it would be cute to style it as a frock; considering it seemed long enough to do so and I had been meaning to give this “blazer dress” trend a try. Honestly, the only thing that was of slight concern to me was the color. As much as I loved how rich and neutral it was, I wasn’t sure if it would wash me out against my skin tone. Luckily that was not the case, and I was more than pleased with everything about this tailored garment. From the cut, to the wide belt, and tiny button details; this piece looked sophisticated and chic in every way. In efforts to tone things down and keep the look a little less formal, I decided to throw on my sneakers and white tube socks for a cool, effortless contrast. As this look was so warm toned, I thought that gold accessories would be the perfect option to really highlight those sandy hues. I had recently purchased the most gorgeous pair of transparent teardrop earrings with gold accent flakes and knew they would bring a beautiful elegance to the overall look. As a final touch, I stumbled across a wooden cross-body bag, that truly felt like the last piece of this fashion puzzle. Though quite reminiscent of a coconut, the spherical shape and texture brought an unexpected bohemian element I didn’t even know I needed! Bags made of natural materials such as wood and straw are always quite popular during the warmer seasons, so I was happy to incorporate one into my look. I loved how this ensemble pulled together so many different style genres and portrayed how they can all coexist and compliment each other in a seamless way. Comment below your favorite piece from this look and how/if you would’ve styled anything differently. Until next time!

I draw inspiration from so many different things when creating my looks, I honestly think it would be impossible to run out of ideas! For instance, with Christmas right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to style a look inspired by jolly ol’ St. Nick! What’s funny is that I really didn’t have this idea in mind until I started collecting the pieces. I saw this burgundy pinstriped blazer a few weeks ago and, though I didn’t purchase it initially, I couldn’t get it out of my head so it didn’t take me long to decide to go back for it. Everything from the rich color, to the belted detail and buttons truly had me swooning! I thought it would be the perfect addition to my tailored collection, as well as make a great statement piece for a sophisticated and chic holiday look. On an unrelated shopping outing, I had been on the hunt for a pair of leather gloves. For the past few Winter seasons I’ve wanted a new pair but always end up waiting too long and missing out. Luckily, this year I decided to jump on the bandwagon early and I’m so happy I did! In the midst of creating content, holiday shopping, and my regular 9-5, I also moved into a new apartment and suffered a minor injury in the process– and thus, the Santa look was born! Because I wanted to keep my wounded finger covered, the gloves were a no-brainer and everything else just seemed to fall into place. While the blazer did come with a matching pair of trousers, I was set on keeping things a bit more casual and styled it with a pair of jeans I had recently bought instead. To further stick with my theme, I figured a black bootie would suffice for footwear; and the lace-up pair I found with mesh detailing really helped to pull everything together. To compliment this accent, I also wore a sheer bodysuit to give my look a consistent edgy vibe. Lastly, in efforts to soften the look a bit, I added a pair of statement earrings to complete my modern Mrs. Clause vision! I’d like to think this is how I would look if I were to deliver gifts around NYC. Instead of reindeer I had my row of cabs and though they don’t fly, they certainly speed through traffic like no other, lol! In all seriousness, I really enjoyed shooting this outfit and would be interested in challenging myself to create more looks inspired by holiday characters. Let me know what you guys think of this idea in the comments below. Until next time!
