After collaborating with Who What Wear, I decided to dive a little more into their collection and see what I could find. To my surprise, their entire range was on trend, full of classic staples, and most importantly AFFORDABLE! Below I’ve rounded up a few pieces that I would absolutely add to my Fall wardrobe and wear for seasons to come. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks; until next time!

DAY ONE:

It’s so crazy how even though I try to mentally prepare for New York Fashion Week, it always has a way of sneaking up on me. This season, I have to admit that I was VERY last minute in confirming events, organizing my schedule, and planning my looks– actually, I had no clue what I was wearing until the morning of (lol). One of the most challenging parts about fashion week in February, is figuring out the balance of showing off your look while still trying to remain as warm as possible. That being said, there are definitely some people that throw caution to the wind and just grin and bear it in the name of fashion; however, I am not one of those people. As this happened to be the coldest day I’d be out and about, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with layers. The foundation of my look was simple, with a thin cream colored turtleneck and my favorite pair of straight-legged denim. From there, I continued to add to the ensemble by adding a checked blazer and my white booties. As this was pretty warm toned overall, my footwear definitely helped add the bit of contrast I was looking for. Finally, I finished off the look with a vintage reversible suede and fur coat given to me by my mother, a pair of gold circle-framed sunnies, and my ring handle bag. I absolutely loved the outcome of this look and how all of the pieces complimented each other in the chicest of ways!

DAY TWO:

The next day, I was happy to see that the forecast predicted warmer temperatures; unfortunately, rain was also to be expected. While this look had less visible layers, I knew that if I styled them correctly I could get away with not wearing a coat and being fairly warm. I was actually baking at certain parts of the day, but it was definitely worth it as the night wore on. Underneath this chunky knit was a fitted tank top, as well as a thin long-sleeved bodysuit for extra insulation. I chose to pair this vibrant sweater with a multi-colored tweed skirt for an interesting mix of texture, and used leather accents with my accessories to add structure and edge. Though also planned on a whim, this look was quite the success in my book and one I would definitely sport again in the future.

DAY THREE:

My third look of the week was the hardest to come up with because the weather was horrible throughout the entire day. I played into the gloomy vibes and ended up styling a fairly dark look, however there were some statement pieces and layering that I absolutely loved (as with both of my previous looks). These 70’s style plaid trousers were love at first sight, and have continued to remain a staple in my Fall/Winter wardrobe rotation. To offset the bottom half of the look, I paired a lace top with an off-the-shoulder- white button down which gave an eye-catching illusion effect to the overall look. I then draped my suede and shearling coat across my shoulders and completed the look with black booties and my leather tote. Despite there not being any sun, there’s something about NYFW that allows you the pass to wear sunglasses in any and every scenario no matter what what the conditions are. I kind of liked taking a more lax approach to this year’s NYFW as it kept me on my toes and also allowed me to fully take in each moment as it occurred organically. I may do a few more events this season but for the most part, it’s a wrap for me until September. Until next time!

As a lover of texture, I knew it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on the ever-so-popular “teddy coat.” While I’ve seen this outerwear piece most often worn in neutral shades, there are a variety of styles that retailers everywhere are designing and releasing into the wardrobes of fashionistas worldwide. I’ve rounded up a few options that have caught my eye recently, so don’t forget to click the images for direct links to shop my picks! Let me know what you think of this trend in the comments below and whether you feel it will last or be over by next season. Until next time!

Of all the textures that seem to make an appearance as soon as the temperature drops below 50 degrees, (faux) fur has easily become one of my favorites. Especially now that the market has become in such high demand for realistic looking furs, retailers have really stepped up their game in creating stand out pieces in basically any style and color variation you can imagine! Below I’ve rounded up some of the outerwear pieces that  have recently caught my eye, so don’t forget to click the images below to shop my picks! Stay warm, and happy shopping!

While it is super exciting to finally begin to shoot more “Spring-appropriate” pieces, the current temperatures on the East Coast are still a little brisk at times. In all honestly, I was fully prepared to shoot this look without the outer layer but on second thought, and with a co-sign from my photographer, I realized that the coat actually added another element of dimension and interest to the outfit. I haven’t dabbled much into the print-mixing trend but this last minute change allowed me to do just that! I found that it is much easier to mix prints when they have a common base color; in this instance, black. In my opinion, the plaid against the floral print perfectly represented the seasonal transitions. Both prints were also neutral enough to allow me to incorporate yet another trend which is the pop of yellow. Aside from this cross-body bag bringing out the yellow stripe in the plaid print, the gold hardware also matched that of my coat as well. I absolutely love how this look came together and how each piece complimented something in the other. I’ve had these completely bleached cream colored jeans for a few years now and I still find endless new ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe, especially as we approach the warmer months. There’s something about the color that adds a unique quality to any outfit and definitely emphasized the flowers on my top more than I think a regular pair of blue jeans would have. To finish off the look I kept it minimal with my favorite (and only) pair of black mules. I’m going to step out on limb and say that this look might actually be a new favorite, but let me know what you think in the comments below. Until next time!

Shearling coats, especially in the “biker jacket” style, have been extremely popular this season. While this piece of outerwear may be on the more trendy side, they easily provide a cozy layer of warmth and edge to any look. Whether from a high end designer or more affordable brand, there are so many variations to choose from and I am personally a huge fan! With Christmas only 3 days away, I wanted to share the items that were on my personal wishlist. I try not to get too overwhelmed with whether or not I actually get what I “wished” for, and rather focus on the giving season while looking forward to the element of surprise. Either way, it’s always fun to write Santa a little list and feel like a kid again. Check out my picks below and I hope you get everything on your list as well! Although it has been oddly warmer these days, I figured since it is still technically winter, I would highlight some of the fur jackets, coats, and overall outerwear that has recently caught my eye. While I do love a statement fur coat, it is a style that can be too overwhelming for some. If you are a person who is a little more subtle with their fur choices, opt for a coat or jacket with a fur collar, trim, or lining. This way, you can still be eye-catching and on trend while still remaining comfortable and confident. Of course, if you’re like me and don’t mind having all eyes on you,  go for a coat with bright fur or a pattern to completely steal the show! No matter what your style is, there is always room for fur in the winter. Show me how you style it! (Don’t forget to click on the images to shop the products below!!)

As the days become longer and the temperatures increase, I realize that I am coming upon the final days of being able to enjoy my outerwear. Luckily this moderate, 50 degree day was absolutely perfect for getting some use out of this striped duster coat I recently purchased. (TIP: If you are searching for items that have sold out on Topshop’s website, check Nordstrom for they also have a Topshop section.) We took to Central Park this time and had a blast. Believe it or not this was my first time actually taking time to walk through the park, and it was beautiful! There were so many interesting paths and places to shoot that really added to the composition of the photos. To give some variety, as I have in the past, I styled the look with both flats and heels. In my opinion, it is definitely a HUGE misconception that flats cannot be fashionable; though I am a heel lover at heart. 😉
