Though I am probably the farthest thing from a “sneaker head,” that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a small collection of go-to’s that never seem to fail me. Below I’ve rounded up the 4 pairs of kicks that I rotate on a fairly regular basis when I’m looking to add some laid back casual, and cool elements to my ensemble. Let me know in the comments one of your favorite pairs that I might not have mentioned, and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

As a girl who’s never really been a sneaker wearer, it’s interesting to me that as of late, they’ve been capturing my attention in a new way. While I don’t see myself jumping on the bandwagon entirely, I definitely see my collection growing and a new personal excitement developing with it. That being said, before I got too carried away, I wanted to make sure that my closet was equipped with the classic “staples”– and for me, that was everything either black or white. Because of my love for contrast, I typically don’t shy away from what some would consider “odd pairings,” and this look was no different. Dresses (and skirts) styled with sneakers, for me,  are just one of those classic combinations that I don’t think I’ll ever stop wearing. The juxtaposition of femininity against more casual and edgy pieces has always intrigued me and also served as a lane that I’ve always felt comfortable in. I actually bought these kicks as a Christmas gift to myself and knew that they would quickly make their way to my blog; I just didn’t know when, or with what look. After doing some post-holiday sale shopping, I stumbled across a tomato colored satin dress with buttons down the front. Initially I picked it up and thought about leaving it in the store, but for some reason I kept going back to it and eventually decided to make the purchase. Because of the white and black design on the snaps of the frock I knew immediately that it would coordinate well with my sneakers, but the look still felt incomplete and not necessarily reflective of the Winter season. After a bit more deliberation and what I thought were successful shopping trips, I ended up just finishing off the look with items from my own wardrobe. I had been on the hunt for red and plaid scarf that slightly resembled wrapping paper since the temperatures started to drop in 2018, and because I’ve been wearing it almost every day since, it seemed like the perfect accessory to convey the cozy vibes I was looking for. I didn’t end up loving the initial outerwear garment that I had bought for this ensemble, but to my surprise I dug up an old college biker jacket that meshed perfectly! It’s always funny to me that the looks I have the least faith in, always seem to come together seamlessly despite my mini panic attacks in the moment. Comment below your favorite choice of footwear and your go-to way to style it. Until next time!

Incorporating athletic wear into everyday style has been a consistent trend lately and one that I’ve definitely grown to become a fan of!  In my opinion the “athleisure” vibe brings such an effortless element to fashion that anyone can wear, and I plan to experiment with it more this spring and summer. Below I’ve rounded up some pieces that I would absolutely consider adding to my personal wardrobe. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks; until next time!

Each year, as I continue to grow as an individual and a brand, I like to showcase the new facets of my life and have it reflect in the content I create. This year more than ever, I’m trying to maintain a firm grasp on my goals, block out the noise, and stay focused. One thing that has definitely helped me to do that, was incorporating a gym regimen into my weekly routine. I don’t think a lot of people realize how important exercise is to not just your body, but your mind as well. Though true, I’d be lying if I said it was always easy forcing myself into the gym especially during days when I feel the most exhausted. For me, music is a huge necessity when exercising as it really allows me to get lost in the moment and forget any ounce of lingering stress, even if it is just for an hour or so. I am so grateful that I was offered the opportunity to collaborate with a brand that creates premium quality headphones for every scenario life has to offer. Sudio is a Swedish brand, whose main objective is to provide studio quality sound through various styles of earphones made for any occasion. As a resident of NYC, I find myself reaching for my earbuds most often while on the train, in the gym, or those late nights in my apartment went I don’t want to disturb my roommates. Luckily, their sleek styles and practical construction, allow for an overall experience of high quality technology as well as an elegant accessory for your day to day style. I thought it would be cool to switch things up by pairing my new Regent headphones with an active wear ensemble as it is something I have never done, and because fitness is slowly but surely becoming a consistent part of my life. I loved how the gold accents brought out the detail in my leggings, and the wireless design allowed them to be easily functional with no hassle when taking them on and off. I chose the classic black because to me, they were the most timeless and can be paired with anything whether at the gym, or on the go. Sudio was also generous enough to provide me with a 15% off coupon code: ASTYLEDMIND, that is valid forever on all of their products and add-ons. Please let me know in the comments below if you’re interested in seeing more lifestyle posts in addition to the style blogs we all know and love. Until next time!

In actuality, the only piece of this outfit that is from a thrift store is my hat but I love it so much that I felt like it deserved its own title lol. I had been on the hunt for a Nike “dad cap” for a few months and found that every time I came across one I liked,  it was either sold out or just plain over priced. My good friend happened to mention checking a thrift shop– I usually tend to stay away from them due to my lack of patience but on this particular day I just decided to go for it. To make a long story short, we went in and after a solid 5 minutes of perusing the store, there it was (and for a mere $3 at that!). It was truly my lucky day and it has become my new wardrobe staple since the day I purchased it. While I was originally on the hunt for a black one, I’ve found that the taupe actually suits me better as it adds a touch of contrast while still remaining neutral. It also makes me feel super cool and “effortless” when I throw it on with a variety of looks. I’ve had all of the items in this look for at least a year now and they still do not disappoint! I like this look because it even though all of the pieces are pretty simple, they work together to create a chic ensemble that can certainly go from day to night.

By no means do I consider myself to be an individual that would be classified as a “sneaker head,” but I am indeed a fan of casual street style and the idea of incorporating sneakers into fashionable looks. Personally, I love looking on Asos for my kicks because they carry a variety of different brands and simple selections that can easily be worn with every day looks. With that being said, I have rounded up a few pairs of trainers that would be staples in my closet and what I would wear on an effortlessly, chic day. This honestly may have been one of the most fun shoots to date. After a gloomy, rainy day, we decided it would be fun to go to a local court and shoot, while shooting…(get it..basketball?). Anyway, we took advantage of the empty space and changed up the dynamic by adding some intense action to our usual photo shoots. The concept actually came together quite nicely since I decided to wear sneakers, (something I’ve been surprisingly doing quite often) and had a very casual vibe going. Looks like these are pretty much my weekend uniform. They allow for you to still be on trend, with the textures and accessories, while also remaining comfortable if you decide to run errands or simply grab coffee with friends. I’ve mentioned before that I love nothing more than a chunky knit sweater during the fall and winter months. They bring such a cozy vibe to any look and provide a great foundation to build upon. Though I wouldn’t classify myself as a “sneaker girl,” I like to have staple kicks in my wardrobe that go with everything, and these Hurraches have become my new favorites. Obviously, you can’t go wrong with black, but they are also extremely lightweight and stylish. So if you like to be weekend casual like me, comment below and tell me your must-have pieces. Until next time!

As we approach the middle of summer and the temperatures continue to rise, getting dressed begins to become more of a hassle than a luxury. In my opinion, the best way to cope with the heat during this time of year, and stay as cool as possible with your wardrobe, is to keep it simple; and what better way to do that than with a basic t-shirt dress  and sneakers. Now don’t get me wrong, I know I chose a black dress with leather accents but it’s a lot cooler than it looks! LOL. The dual textures on the dress paired with the high- top, hidden wedge sneakers bring forth a sports luxe vibe that any fashionista can rock. I feel super edgy in looks like these and never hesitate to reach for them whenever I get the chance. In all honesty though, I’m really excited to whip out my fall fashion and see what exciting new trends are to come within the next few months; but for now I will continue to enjoy the heat while we have it. Let me know how you’re keeping cool. B)
