If I had to describe “streetstyle” in three words I would probably say edgy, cool, and effortless; and if I’m being honest, these were the words that I had in mind when styling this look. I bought this sweatshirt dress a couple months back and while I knew I absolutely loved it, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do with it. What I did know however, is that I wanted to save it for a sunny Spring day and this past weekend ended up being the perfect opportunity to bring it out. After toying back and forth with ideas of dressing this piece up and down, I finally decided to go for a more casual look. In my opinion, nothing screams warm weather like a pair of white sneakers, so I pulled out my all time favorite leather high-tops to compliment this look. While I would totally rock this look with bare legs, I felt like something was missing so I grabbed my fishnets for bit of edge and interest. To balance out the skin being shown on my lower half and be prepared for the still slightly unpredictable weather, I grabbed an old light wash denim jacket with lace detail. Finally, to complete this look and add to my “cool” factor, I threw on a mauve toned suede cap and was ready to go! I love ensembles like this because they prove that you can take a few basic items with minimal effort and still head out into the world feeling confident and stylish. If you’re a fan of this look as much as I am, leave a comment below and tell me your thoughts! Until next time!

One of the perks of being a blogger, in my opinion, is that you have a permanent excuse to constantly shop. Even if it’s for something that you may only wear once or wouldn’t typically pick up, you can easily make a case for it. That being said, I try to only shop for pieces that I know I can feature on my blog and make permanent assets to my existing wardrobe. However, there are times when I am skeptical about an item but buy it anyway just to try it out; and this skirt was a product of one of “those” purchases. A few years ago, the PVC (or patent) trend was very popular in regards to body-con midi skirts and dresses. While I was a fan of it then, it’s been awhile since I’ve worn something of that particular fabric. All in all, there was something about this skirt that intrigued me and since it was also on sale, I decided to take the plunge. To be honest, this piece sat in my closet for about a month and a half and just as the regrets were starting to creep in I found the perfect top to pair it with. Since we’re finally diving into Spring, I instantly knew that this white embroidered shirt would make for a clean and effortless look. What I loved most about it, of course, was the Asian-inspired back detail that beautifully emphasized the rich red color of the skirt. For the Summer I would not hesitate to pair this look with some crisp white sneakers, but because it still gets a little chilly at times I opted for my go-to OTK boots. To accessorize I kept it very simple with a dainty silver choker to match the exposed zipper on the skirt, and my fringe backpack to keep things casual. This look definitely got me excited for the warmer months to come and I can’t wait to mix and match these pieces withe the other gems in my wardrobe. Let me know what you think of the PVC/patent trend in the comments below. Until next time!

Yellow has become one of the trendiest colors when looking to add a POP of interest to any outfit. While it is super exciting to finally begin to shoot more “Spring-appropriate” pieces, the current temperatures on the East Coast are still a little brisk at times. In all honestly, I was fully prepared to shoot this look without the outer layer but on second thought, and with a co-sign from my photographer, I realized that the coat actually added another element of dimension and interest to the outfit. I haven’t dabbled much into the print-mixing trend but this last minute change allowed me to do just that! I found that it is much easier to mix prints when they have a common base color; in this instance, black. In my opinion, the plaid against the floral print perfectly represented the seasonal transitions. Both prints were also neutral enough to allow me to incorporate yet another trend which is the pop of yellow. Aside from this cross-body bag bringing out the yellow stripe in the plaid print, the gold hardware also matched that of my coat as well. I absolutely love how this look came together and how each piece complimented something in the other. I’ve had these completely bleached cream colored jeans for a few years now and I still find endless new ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe, especially as we approach the warmer months. There’s something about the color that adds a unique quality to any outfit and definitely emphasized the flowers on my top more than I think a regular pair of blue jeans would have. To finish off the look I kept it minimal with my favorite (and only) pair of black mules. I’m going to step out on limb and say that this look might actually be a new favorite, but let me know what you think in the comments below. Until next time!

Corset belts have become a leading accessory in terms of streetstyle and edgy fashion trends lately. With some slight hesitation, I gave in and am now a full supporter of this look. As I knew this was going to be my first blog post of the Spring, I wanted to make sure I styled something weather appropriate and fun. I like this look because it is composed pretty evenly of items that I already had in my closet, and a couple new pieces to freshen things up. I recently bought this shirt-dress and really didn’t think much about posting it on my blog; that is, until I found this belt. Within the last 6 months, I’ve really seen the corset belt trend take off. Whether paired over a t-shirt, blazer, or dress, you name it; this trend is definitely not slowing down anytime soon. Personally, I’ve never been much of a belt person but I also never shy away from trying new things. When I saw this piece during one of my shopping trips, I instantly envisioned this top and began building the ensemble in my mind. I decided on the white accessory because aside from moving into the warmer months, I felt like it provided more of a challenge than the usual black options. I kept the rest of the look pretty simple and sleek with black leather leggings and pumps. As we all know I love adding dimension with different textures, and the smooth matte finish against the lighter fabric of the top provided the perfect contrast. At this point, I knew the look was almost complete but I still felt like there were a few elements missing. I decided to play off of the navy stripes in the shirt as well, and added a dark denim choker for a bit of edge and a light puffer jacket as an extra layer. In all honesty I totally forgot about this jacket, which I’ve had since college, but the navy blue sheen provided the most amazing final touch to tie this look together. I must say, after shooting this outfit, I am beyond excited to see what inspiring style and trends this season brings. Until next time!

Track pants have been a leading force in street-style lately. I love the 90’s sporty/casual vibe they provide to any look no matter what the occasion is, and the effortless versatility that comes with them as well. Please see a few of my picks below and let me know what you think of this trend in the comments. Until next time!

I’ve been noticing a HUGE trend involving primary colors over the last few months. For me, this was not something I could really ever see myself partaking in as I tend to gravitate towards darker, more neutral tones. That said, I purchased these trousers during my fashion week preparation and thought that they would be a nice statement piece to wear to a few shows. As it turns out I ended up loving them, and after being captured wearing them on a few different street-style blog sites(here), I knew I had to style them for a post of my own. Because these trousers are SO bright, I wanted to keep them as the focal point of the look. This is not to say that you can’t pair them with other vivid pieces, but I wanted to keep the look authentic to my personal style. To keep things fairly casual, I paired the trousers with my medium blue chambray top. I thought the combination of these garments really made for a nice transitional Spring look with a tailored flare. For a bit of dimension, I added a lace bralet underneath the top and had the shirt unbuttoned about half way to expose the delicate details. I continued to play off of the black stripe detail on the pants and added a light over-sized cardigan for some added movement. To accessorize, I opted for my frequently used leather quilted purse and my sleek heeled booties for a bit of height. Though fairly minimal, I was quite pleased with how this turned out. With a peachy-nude lip and my gold aviator frames, I was ready for an outdoor brunch with friends or a chic business meeting. I hope you guys enjoyed this look and let me know what you think of the primary color trend in the comments below. Until next time!

As we are moving into the Spring, it will soon be time to put away our extra layers and heavy fabrics and opt for some lighter, more breathable alternatives. I love satin because of its movement and the soft & shiny texture that provides a luxe dimension to any look.
